Alfen is a company jointly owned by Akfen Holdings and Altaca Group that was formed in 2005 to undertake large-scale construction & engineering projects in Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries of the Former Soviet Union (NIS).  The company is currently constructing a 650-seat Auditorium Complex in Moscow.


Akfen started its activities in 1976 and since then has grown to become one of the largest construction and engineering companies active in the Turkish market. They have completed many major projects including Istanbul Ataturk Airport International Terminal, Emlak Housing & Trade Centre in Ankara, Aliaga Oil Blending Facilities at Izmir, Fethiye State Hospital in Mugla, Tupras Petroleum Pipeline Facilities in Izmir, Chisinau Airport Modernisation (Moldova), Bursa Natural Gas Distribution Line and the Hotel Akfenclub in Kusadasi. Projects currently ongoing include extensions to Istanbul's Metro system and construction works at the TED Ankara College.

Altaca entered the Russian market in 1996 having undertaken construction works in Turkey since the early 1960's. In Moscow Altaca have concentrated on fit-out projects for major international organisations and companies such as The World Bank, Deloitte & Touche, Renaissance Capital and the Bank of America. Industrial experience includes warehousing for BIC and factory renovations for Ice Fili. Altaca's Kazakh operation has recently completed the infrastructure works for Tengizchevroil's new 28,000m2 office complex in Atyrau and is currently constructing an elite Apartment Complex, also in Atyrau.
